All About Summer Camp

Our Summer Day Camp program is open to riders from the ages of seven to sixteen and each camp session runs Monday to Friday from 900am to 400pm.  Early drop off and late pick up is available for an additional fee.  Campers will learn firsthand all of the responsibility and joy that horses bring, as they care for and ride our favorite lesson horses under our careful guidance.  Equine behavior is a large focus of our program as understanding the horse and its behavior has shown time and again to produce a happier horse and a safer rider.

Camp begins with an hour-long riding lesson followed by hands on arts and crafts activities, horse care, and knowledge sessions.  Knowledge sessions cover a variety of topics such as horse breeds, styles of riding, health care, and equine first aid.

A second ride is scheduled for the afternoon and can be a practice ride, a bareback ride, or a trail ride.  Campers are responsible for the horse they ride, making sure it is adequately cooled down, groomed, and fed for the evening before they leave (with our help, of course!).  Other daily activities include arts and crafts, creative writing, and hands-on learning activities involving horses.

Every Camp Friday is an informal horse show.  Campers invite their friends and family to watch as they demonstrate the skills they have learned during the week.  Certificates will be awarded to each camper for their participation in the program.  This is also the time when friends and family can tour the facility.

LUNCH
Campers should bring their own bagged lunch and a water bottle.  A refrigerator is available for use in the air-conditioned tack room.
